A Rich Historical Experience

About The Celtic Hearth & Bridie Molloy’s

Our building is a testament to the rich history of Newfoundland. Having survived the Great Fire of 1892, it has proudly stood the test of time and has been the home of a general store, toy store, hardware store, and pharmacy and witnessed countless stories unfold within its walls. It is filled with rich history of the years gone by. The Celtic Hearth itself carries on this legacy, offering a place where tradition meets modern hospitality. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, you’ll find a piece of Newfoundland’s past and present in every corner of our pub.

Traditional Guinness Pub and Restaurant

Bridie Molloy’s is a traditional Guinness pub and restaurant located on the world-renowned George Street (reputed to have the most bars per square foot in North America), in historic St. John’s, Newfoundland. We are host to some of the best live traditional Irish and Newfoundland music, so cut the rug – or our floor – with some of the best bands in town!
